This is a great time of the year to be on the farm. It’s still pleasantly hot during the day and the nights nice and cool. Everything is green and the animals are in the prime of health, nice and fat from a few months’ of good grazing. We’re in full swing preparing the food gardens for winter vegetable planting, as well as getting in a few late summer autumn crops from beans to lettuce and Chinese cabbage. For winter/spring, over the next few weeks we will be planting onion, garlic, beetroot, turnips, carrots, endive, spinach, kale, broad beans and peas.
Due to the tremendous success of our recent Tortillas & Toppings – Flavours of Mexico Food Experience, we are again running the Workshop this Saturday, 14 March from 15:30. In the workshop we cover the making of different flavoured fresh corn and flour tortillas, and a selection of zingy fillings and salsas. More…..
Our exciting Food Experiences, continue to be a hit. Through our Food Experience Cooking Workshops you get to choose the date, when to cook (morning, afternoon or evening), and what style of food you want to cook (from Seasonal Country Fare to different Foods of the World menus). Spend a relaxing half- to a few days of pure food indulgence on a working organic farm, with hosts, Cilla and Mike, as they share their food experiences, in-depth knowledge, favourite recipes and delicious seasonal food, and stay over if you wish. We also have our annual Garlic growing workshop at the end of March.
