Christmas Cooking Workshop

Christmas, more than any other occasion during the year is a time for friends & family to get together around a table. For many, the meal can also be a stressful occasion. On Sunday 20th December Wickedfood Earth Country School’s Christmas Cooking Workshop will guide you through a number of delicious dishes that you can make ahead of time, thus releasing you from the kitchen to enjoy the festivities. Dishes include:

  • How to cook the perfect ham;
  • 3 very different sauces for your ham;
  • How to de-bone and stuff a chicken/goose/turkey;
  • 2 very different dessert options.

Christmas Biscuit Baking

Christmas is a time for giving and what better way to get into the spirit than with a gift of home-made Christmas biscuits. In this baking workshop we will teach you how to bake four of the tastiest biscuits we know, recipes that have been passed down for over five generations. Participants will take home ±200 biscuits to give away as gifts. For more info click here.

Meatbox Order

All our meat is veld-raised, growth hormone and antibiotic free, and vegetables are naturally grown. Wickedfood Earth Farm has some great specials for the festive season dinner table:

  • We are offering a ±20kg half pig, butchered, processed and packaged at only R950, that is under R50/kg (only 3 still available).
  • An ±8kg Cured meat pack @ R640 a saving of R200 if you had to buy the products separately (we use no preservatives, or liquid smoke). The pack consists of 3 packets x 500g pulled pork, 9 x 2 kassler chops, ±1kg belly, 1x ±2,2kg cooked ham, and 4 x 500g sausage –  Plain, Italian, Chourizo.
  • 3 fruit compote – Fruit season is in full swing. We have just bottled a peach, plum and apricot compote.

Please note cut-off for orders is before COB on Wednesday 2 December (26 November for 1/2 pigs & cured meat packs), for collection on Saturday, 5 December, at either Wickedfood Cooking School, Sunninghill, or Banting Market at Pretoria Botanical Gardens or Wickedfood Earth in Hekpoort.

Christmas Hams for Sale!!

Due to our natural farming practises at Wickedfood Earth Farm, our animals take on average, twice as long to reach maturity as factory-farmed animals. This means that the muscles of the animals get to work, which ensures added flavour. Our  Hot smoked cured ham is already cooked, and is delicious served cold, with either a mustard sauce, sweet pickle or marjoram salsa. These hot smoked hams are between ±2,2kg and ±,5kg, at R150/kg. They are vacuumed and flash frozen to lock in flavour, perfect for a hot Xmas day. Our hams have no preservatives, or liquid smoke. Limited numbers for delivery early December. One of the quickest and easiest desserts to make, yet everyone’s favourite, served hot or cold. Make it with whatever fruit is in season. At the moment at Wickedfood Earth Country Cooking School we are making it in our teambuilding cooking classes with our 3 fruit compote.  Serve with hot custard in winter, or thick yoghurt or cream in summer.
