BBQ inspired lunch and craft beer tasting – Sunday 28 January

For this unique 5 course lunch, each course pared with a different beer, the Wickedfood Earth Country Cooking School staff have been inspired by the art of cooking over an open fire and the unique flavour of small batch craft beers, especially brewed for the event. The Country Cooking School staff will combine their favourite South African braai techniques, with long slow BBQ smoking and open fire cooking techniques of the Americas, to produce some really unique dishes and sides – ribs, pulled pork, farm made sausage, slow cooked beef cheeks, sticky wings and even a dessert and beer pairing.

Our brewer for the event is Danny, who hails from the UK, and has been brewing beer on and off since he was a teenager (helping his father brew). Having moved to SA his interest was re-kindled at a visit to the Worthogs Home Brew Club Summer Festival. His passion is brewing ales. Danny only brews for drinking pleasure and doesn’t sell his beers. He will be on hand to take you through the tasting.

All the produce for this event will  showcase the fantastic flavour of Wickedfood Earth organically grown fruit, farm made preserves and veld raised meat. True country cooking at its very best.

The meal will be in the form of a 5-course menu consisting of a selection of  dishes, each one representing a different cut of meat, and/or cooking technique, with the appropriate sides, and each paired with a different beer. We will crown the whole feast off with a delicious medley of desserts, showcasing the best of our seasonal fruit, and home made ice-cream.

Please note we are not licensed so you are welcome to bring your own drinks and ice. We supply jugs of chilled water on the tables and a variety of different beers especially brewed for the event. Space for this exclusive lunch at Wickedfood Earth Country Cooking School is limited to a maximum of 40, so book early to avoid disappointment. Guests will have a choice of sitting at our magnificent communal long table, or for parties of 4, 6, 8 or 10 at their own tables (with enough lead-in time, we can re-create this event for your exclusive group).
