Rediscover the lost art of real bread, from the ground up.

For over 10,000 years, bread has been at the heart of our tables — a symbol of nourishment, celebration, and community. At Wickedfood Earth Farm, we’re bringing this tradition back to life with our immersive A to Z of Bread Baking Workshop, hosted in our farm kitchen nestled in the scenic Magalies Valley.

This two-day, hands-on workshop is designed to demystify the process of baking wholesome, flavourful bread from scratch. Whether you’re an enthusiastic beginner or looking to refine your baking skills, you’ll leave with the confidence to bake a variety of breads at home — and likely never buy a loaf again.

Workshop Overview

Day 1Everyday Breads, Done Right

We begin with a versatile, foolproof basic bread dough. From there, we explore a wide range of shaping and baking techniques. You’ll learn to create:

  • Light and airy pitta
  • Chewy, crusty ciabatta
  • Rustic chunky farmhouse loaves
  • Herby, savoury focaccia
  • Soft, sweet Chelsea buns

All designed to build your understanding of dough texture, timing, and flavour — the perfect foundation for confident home baking.

Day 2Artisan and Celebration Breads

On the second day, we take things up a notch, working with more complex doughs, slow fermentation techniques, and celebration-style loaves. You’ll bake:

  • Our take on naturally leavened slow-rise sourdough
  • Rich and buttery brioche
  • Classic hot-cross buns
  • Braided challah
  • Hearty wholewheat loaves
  • A versatile gluten-free or low-carb bread

The result? A beautifully diverse bread basket, rich with flavour and steeped in tradition.
