Welcome to another year of decadent food, cooking and friendships. 2020 marks a decade since Wickedfood Earth was established. I’m proud to say a lot has been achieved since we started the project – we will put together some of the highlights for our newsletters during the year.
To kick off the year we have some exciting events planned, including a Lebanese bread baking and mezze cooking workshop, our mezze lunch market day, 2 romantic Valentine options, and our annual Garlic growing workshop.
Our Food Experience workshops and farm accommodation are both proving to be a great success (click here to see the great review we received on Airbnb). Look forward to your visit to us on the farm for one of these experiences in the not-too-distant future.
Come learn how to make the perfect pitta bread and a selection of classic Lebanese mezze dishes, including hummus, baba ghanoush, labneh, fattoush, bean stew, and Lebanon’s national dish, Kibbi Naye. Farm produce and Agri Lunch
Come and enjoy our regular Agri mezze Country Lunch where you will also be able to pre-order a selection of our bacon and cured meat products. Taste the selection of the products we make at the cooking school, and see where your food comes from. Enjoy a relaxed country lunch of a selection of generous mezze dishes to share, all prepared with a strong emphasis on our seasonal farm produce including freshly-baked farm bread, award winning artisan cured meats, farm made pâtés, homemade pickles, imaginative salads and a farm-made dessert to finish.
Valentine’s Food Experiences in the country
- Friday 14 to Sunday 16 February – R3 850 per couple (maximum 2 couples). Spend an exclusive 2 nights of pure food indulgence including 2 nights’ accommodation, gourmet candle-lit dinner on Valentine’s evening, cooking class with lunch (below) on 15 February and breakfasts on both mornings. More….

Growing garlic & Winter vegetable gardening
In this workshop we share the knowledge accumulated over the last 10 years while developing the Wickedfood Earth Farm food gardens along permaculture principles. We will take you through how to prepare the beds for sowing garlic, the best garlic and vegetables to grow for winter and when to plant. You will also receive ± 200 garlic seeds of 4 of our best growing varieties plus one or two experimental seeds, to the value of over R400. And to finish with a delicious Wickedfood Lunch (R795pp).
