It’s hard to imagine that we are already more than half way through the year. Winter has definitely arrived with frost every morning on the farm. For us, frost is a blessing as it ensures cold units, without which we do not get a good garlic or fruit harvest in the new growing season.
This coming Sunday, 8 July, we have a delicious Veld Raised Beef Lunch on offer, still 2 tables of 4 available and a few spaces for smaller groups. The menu showcases true nose to tail eating, through some very different beef preparation, cooking and presentation techniques, a 4-course meal to remember, including slow smoked/roasted meat platter of Beef cheeks, Beef rib, Beef pie of slow cooked beef ragout, and a hearty baked winter pudding to round things off. To tantalize your taste buds, for the next two months of winter, the Country Cooking School once again brings you some great events, showcasing both the great produce that is being produced on Wickedfood Earth Farm, and some serious cooking by our internationally accredited chef, turning Wickedfood Earth Farm & Country Cooking School’s produce into some showstopping feasts. These include:
- Sunday 8 July – Veld-raised beef lunch;
- Sunday 22 July – Sunday Mezze lunch;
- Sunday 5 August – Venison Tasting Menu;
- Sunday 19 August – Mezze country lunch.
These themed lunches are built around the flavourful antibiotic and growth hormone-free veld-raised meat we produce on the farm. Those attending will also have the opportunity to have a guided walk around the farm and pre-order our meat as well as some of our farm-made products.
